How to reach Borgo Argenina
We are centrally located in Chianti, 20 minutes from Siena and one hour away from Firenze. The famous towns of Cortona, San Gimigniano and the wine regions of Montalcino and Montepulciano – home of the exquisite Brunello and Nobile wines – are just a short drive away.
• BY CAR
We suggest renting a car, because it’s the best way to explore our beautiful countryside. Driving here is very easy – you needn’t worry about traffic like in the big cities. Primary rental companies such as AVIS and HERTZ are located near the train station in Siena (20 minutes drive from Borgo Argenina).
• BY PRIVATE TRANSFERS & DRIVING SERVICES
If you do not prefer to drive you can easily take a taxi from the train station in Siena to arrive at Borgo Argenina.

From Siena
• Take highway E78 towards AREZZO.
• Exit when you see the sign MONTEAPERTI – CASETTA. (km sign 7)
• Turn left towards Monteaperti – Pianella and keep going for about 9km.
• After the STOP sign at the intersection, you will be on road SP 408 Gaiole – Siena
• Turn right towards GAIOLE IN CHIANTI for 4 km.
• Just after the 14 km distance marker, turn right when you see the sign MONTI.
• Drive towards Monti village for about 700 meters.
• Turn right at the sign SC 22 LUCIGNANO
• Continue for 800 meters on the gravel road towards BORGO ARGENINA.
From Gaiole in Chianti
• Follow the sign towards Siena on road S.P. 408.
• Pass the first sign for MONTI (do not turn there!)
• After the 15 km distance marker on road S.P. 408, turn left when you see the second sign for MONTI.
• Drive towards Monti village for about 700 meters.
• Turn right at the sign S.C. 22 LUCIGNANO
• Continue for 800 meters on the gravel road towards BORGO ARGENINA.
From Florence
• Follow the sign for Siena.
• Take HIGHWAY FIRENZE – SIENA towards SIENA.
• Do not exit at Siena city but keep going on highway E 78 towards AREZZO.
• Exit sign MONTEAPERTI – CASETTA (km sign 7)
• Turn left towards Monteaperti – Pianella and keep going for about 9 km.
• After the STOP sign at the intersection, you will be on road S.P. 408 Gaiole – Siena.
• Turn right towards GAIOLE IN CHIANTI for 4 km.

• Take MOTORWAY A1 towards Roma
• Exit Firenze IMPRUNETA – SIENA

From Rome or Rome airport, Fiumicino
• Take motorway A1 towards FIRENZE-BOLOGNA- MILANO.
• Exit at VALDICHIANA – SIENA
• Take highway E78 towards Siena – for 37 km
• Exit when you see the sign MONTEAPERTI – CASETTA. (Km sign 7)
• Turn left towards Monteaperti – Pianella and keep going for about 9 km.
• After the STOP sign at the intersection, you will be on road S.P. 408 Gaiole – Siena
• Turn right towards GAIOLE IN CHIANTI for 4 km.
